How We Met

August 2004

Our story begins back at Mumford High School, where we shared the same homeroom class.

Mike was the laid-back, chill athlete—unpredictably funny, always cracking jokes that had the whole class laughing, and bringing a relaxed and fun energy wherever he went.

Miya was the focused, driven student—quiet, consistent, and fully committed to her goals. Always locked in, always prepared, and always aiming high.

Even though we didn’t know it then, those early mornings in homeroom were the start of something real. Over time, a simple class connection turned into friendship… and eventually, something so much more.

From classmates to soulmates, our journey has been one full of growth, memories, and deep connection—and we’re so excited to now share the next chapter with you.

The Proposal

A New Year’s Eve to Remember

Mike had been talking about throwing a New Year’s Eve party all year long. For the first half of the year it seemed like it was just another big idea—fun, exciting, but nothing out of the ordinary. Miya didn’t think too much of it. That’s just Mike being Mike.

But then came July 2023, and things started to feel a little… different. Mike wasn’t just talking anymore—he was marketing the event, selling tickets, and making serious moves to turn this vision into reality. Miya was proud of him for pulling it off but still had no idea what was really in the works.

What she thought was a night to ring in the new year with friends and family turned out to be the night she got the ring she always wanted.

As the clock ticked closer to midnight and the room buzzed with energy, Mike had one final surprise planned—a moment Miya never saw coming. In front of everyone, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.

Miya was completely shocked—tears, laughter, and pure joy all at once. The crowd erupted, and just like that, a New Year’s Eve celebration turned into the beginning of our forever.
